Hello, I'm K. A. Excell
I grew up on a ranch in the American West — wide skies, hard work, and the smell of dust and hay. I loved all of it, in theory. (Who wouldn't like riding horses every weekend?) In practice, you were more likely to find me wedged in the cab of an old pickup truck, nose-deep in a book, doing my level best to be somewhere else entirely.

These days I write fiction — novels and short stories that live at the intersection of science fiction and fantasy, cozy humor and stubborn practicality, and magic-twisted versions of reality. That the act of imagining other worlds isn't escapism; it's resistance. It's how we stay human amidst the chaos of the modern day.
